Patching and Repairing Leaking Roof in Colfax, NC

When the homeowners had a sunroom added on to the side of their house, they had no idea that the connected roof would become such a problem in the future. The way that the added-on roof connected allowed for some serious issues to occur. Water was pooling up and over time the shingles started to warp. This made it easy for water to start to leak inside and it did, especially around the ventilation pipes.

This issue needed to be solved immediately, so the homeowners contacted us to repair the home. We tore off the problematic areas and started to patch the roof. We laid down a new underlayment as well as ice and water guard. Then we started to patch the roof with the new shingles installing them seamlessly. We also added new vent pipe boots to guard the ventilation from water leakage.

When the new roof was constructed, it connected the sunroof to the rest of the home properly. Over time, the colors will begin to match as the new shingles see some weather. In the meantime, this roof will protect the rest of the home from the rain.

The seal around the old skylights in this home’s roof started to fail. Water was able to easily get under the frame and damage the home. Mold, rotting wood, and high humidity in the home were all symptoms of this leakage. Being tired of this harmful result, the homeowners hired to fix the problem.

Fixing and Replacing Roof in High Point, NC

Storm weather and general age had damaged the shingles on this roof. The damages were allowing water to reach the decking and get into the attic. Problems such as mold, heating, and rot began to set in and made it obvious that a solution would be needed.

After a thorough inspection, we proposed a full roof repair and replacement to keep the home protected. The issue with a leaky roof is that repairs usually need to be made to the roof’s decking because of the water seepage. Also, adding another layer of shingles would only post-pone the inevitable. So, we tore off the failing roof, repaired the damaged decking, and then replaced a brand-new roofing system.

Once the new roof was in place, the homeowners were thrilled with the level of protection it had. This asphalt shingle roof not only stopped the leakage, but it also assisted the home to regulating its internal temperatures.

Removal and Replacement of Vent Pipe Boot in Greensboro. NC

Dry rotting from the sun caused major damage to the existing pipe vent to where it needed to be replaced. To remove boot, the shingles sealed to the tar line were loosened. All nails that did not serve a function were then removed.

After the existing pipe boot was removed, the new black UV protected PermaBoot was adhered with 1/4 ring shank nails. Sealant was used to reseal any tar line that was broke. Sealant was also applied to exposed nails on top.

Now, the new vent pipe boot is installed, and for additional protection, flexible silicone caulk is applied to minor areas where early signs of weathering have appeared.
